The HomeSeer Automation Hometroller is a home automation system that works well with most of the devices. The wide range of compatible devices gives it a plus point.HomeSeer has been in the home automation industry for reputable amount of time and I thought it was time to review it’s Hometroller S6.
HomeSeer Hometroller S6 Review
The design is not the slickest you will find but it is great for vertical set up.With plugins for most major integrable devices, the system looks somewhat like a CPU.
As mentioned earlier,Hometroller is compatible with many range of devices. Some famous and popular ones are:
- Philips HUE-Lighting
- Cooper CO-Thermostat
- GoControl-garage door/Smart doors
- Homeboy-Home Security Cameras
Following connecting protocol/technologies is supported by Hometroller
Around 70% of the connectivity relies on Z-Wave since it is the most popular and widely used one.About 10% accounts for IFFTTT and 20% is rest accounting for mostly Insteon.
Supports all Android and IOS devices from tablets to smartphones.
The software used in the system is HS3PRO.Previously used was HS2PRO.
- 4 GB of RAM
- 32 GB of SSD
- Power Consumption< 15 Watts
- Operates on Windows 10
- Display Port
- Mic Lines
- LAN port
- Offers wide range of products for integration.
- Software interface is user-friendly.
- Bad costumer service. Many customers don’t have positive response regarding the costumer services.
- HS3 is not compatible with HS2.If you are upgrading, then it might be an issue.
If you are new to Home Automation, then HomeSeer Hometroller S6 could be a disappointment.Because you need all support you can get for installing the device in your home and the guys in HomeSeer are just not that type.
IF you are already used to other automation systems, then Hometroller S6 could be a go-to.But the learning curve of this system is quite sloppy. But once you are quite used-to,then you will find that they have the best controlling software.I think the software is a winner in their automation system.
